Author Guidelines

Submit original research that falls within the journal's stated aims and scope. Manuscripts must not be published or under consideration elsewhere.

Manuscript preparation

  • Upload an editable manuscript file in Microsoft Word or OpenDocument format.
  • Remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements and identifying file metadata from the review manuscript. This journal uses double-anonymous review.
  • Provide a concise title, structured abstract where appropriate, and relevant keywords.
  • Use a clear and consistent citation style. Include a complete reference list and verify links and identifiers.
  • Number all tables and figures, cite each in the text, and provide captions. Authors must hold permission for third-party material.
  • Identify all contributors and confirm that every listed author approved the submission.
  • Disclose funding, conflicts of interest, research ethics approval, use of data, and any relevant permissions.

Files and supporting information

Upload the blinded manuscript as the main article component. Figures, datasets, reporting checklists and other supporting files may be added separately when relevant.

Charges and licence

No payment is collected during initial submission. The applicable article processing charge, waiver process, copyright terms and open-access licence will be disclosed and require the author's agreement before an accepted manuscript proceeds to publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The manuscript fits the selected journal's aims and scope.
  • The work is original, has not been published, and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • Every listed author has approved the manuscript and its submission.
  • The review manuscript and its file metadata do not identify the authors.
  • The submission includes a title, abstract, keywords, complete references, and numbered tables and figures where applicable.
  • Funding, conflicts of interest, ethics approval, data availability and permissions are disclosed where applicable.
  • The authors hold permission to reproduce all third-party material.
  • The manuscript file is editable and all required supporting files have been uploaded.

Articles

Original research articles within the journal's aims and scope. Submissions undergo editorial screening and, when suitable, double-anonymous peer review.

Copyright Notice

No transfer of copyright is required at initial submission. Final copyright and publication licence terms will be presented to the corresponding author for explicit acceptance before publication.

Privacy Statement

Names, email addresses and account information are used to administer registration, submission, peer review, production, publication and site security. Access is limited to authorised staff and reviewers where required for these purposes. Information is not sold or used for unrelated marketing.
